The girls teams, after dominating the North Hills league the last 4 years, moved to the very strong Crestview league. With a complete team effort (all 15 on varsity, all 17 on JV, and 18 girls on FS scoring points towards the team totals) the Comanches made an excellent debut into the new league.
The Junior Varsity girls were spectacular during the competition which included breaking 7 school records(**). This year’s squad was faster than the 2018 team and will go down as the fastest JV team ever in the history of our consistently strong junior varsity teams. Leading the way for the JV with 2 championship finalist swims were Grace Tessitore (200 IM and 500 free), Aaliyah Theos (200 IM and 100 breast), Tawny Shu (50 and 100 free**) Elizabeth Mullahey (50 free and 100 fly), Katelyn Volk (50 free and 100 breast**), Megan Cheng (100 fly and 100 back**), Ashley Mauldin (100 fly** and 100 back). The following JV girls that made one championship final and one consolation final included Jessica Hermreck (200 free** and 100 free), Daphne Wilder (200 free and 100 back), Bella Daeberick (200 and100 free), Alicia Chau (200 IM and 100 fly), Tabitha Martinez (100 free and 100 breast) and Brittney Pino (500 free and 100 breast). The 200 medley relay (Cheng, Theos, Mullahey, Volk) and 400 free relay (Shu, Hermreck, Daeberick, Volk) set the school records—the medley had stood since 1997.
