Aleeah Gould Named the OC Register Athlete of the Week BY DAMIAN CALHOUN  STAFF WRITER   Aleeah Gould Canyon Gould (106) earned Lower Weight MVP honors at the CIF-SS Individual Championships on Saturday. She won all five matches by fall as she qualified for her second consecutive CIF State Tournament, Feb. 27-28.  


Aleeah Gould won the 106 championship round, finishing the day 5-0 with all pins. She was also awarded “Outstanding Wrestler” for the lower weight division. She will be representing Canyon High School at the state tournament in Visalia, CA at the end of February.


Philliz Tu’avao finished today with pride. She had one pin and her final match was a very close loss. After wrestling for just two short months, she placed from 1st to 5th in every tournament for the team. She pushed through to CIF finals and wrestled against many seasoned wrestlers with an impressive and aggressive style.

Road to Girls’ State Begins
