Our Boys’ JV Lacrosse team closed out its second season by celebrating their seniors on the brand new turf field. Senior players Eric Crider, Macade Hanson, Captain Michael Kwan, Michael LaBroad, Shawyon Louyeh, John Rutherford and Captain Zachary Zebrow were honored in style and then went on to win their final game of the season by defeating Segerstrom High School 9-4. Momentum for this final game began the day before when JV Black and JV Gold united to defeat Huntington Beach High 13-8!
The wins were truly team efforts as numerous players stepped up to contribute. Key game highlights included Senior John Rutherford scoring the final Canyon goal of the season after having opened the season by scoring its first. Alex Robinson scored back-to-back game hat tricks – scoring 7 goals against Huntington Beach and 3 goals against Segerstrom. Zachary Shenouda also scored a hat trick with 3 goals against Huntington Beach and 2 goals against Segerstrom. The following Seniors also ended their Canyon lacrosse careers with game contributions: Eric Crider with 2 shots in the Segerstrom game; Macade Hanson with 5 shots, 1 goal and 1 assist in the Segerstrom game and 2 shots in the Huntington Beach game; Michael Kwan with 2 shots in the Huntington Beach game; Michael Labroad with an assist in the Huntington Beach game; Shawyon Louyeh with 2 shots in the Huntington Beach game and Zachary Zebrow with 2 shots and 1 assist in the Segerstrom game.
