Emma Hadley – Cross Country

The girls Athlete of the Month for September is freshman, Emma Hadley.  In the couple of months of attending Canyon, she has already proved to be an outstanding Comanche! Since the beginning of summer, Hadley has maintained perfect attendance as well as a tremendous work ethic, as stated by her coach, Heather Frisone. Her coach described her as “a fierce competitor” that shows respect to her coaches and teammates, has an enthusiasm for learning, and a love of running. Emma recently won the Crestview League Preview meet with a time of  17:03.3 on the 3-mile course and placed 20th in the highly competitive Woodbridge Invitational Sweepstakes race with a time of 16:55.3. Her times have her ranked as the 2nd fastest freshman in California and 3rd in the United States; she was also recently named OC Register’s Girls Athlete of the Week. Keep up the great work, Emma!


Joey Rouly – Football

The boys Athlete of the Month for September is Junior, Joey Rouly. Rouly, the Comanches wide receiver and kicker, has had an amazing start to the football season. His contributions this season include 18 catches, 211 yards, 4 touchdowns. Furthermore, at the kicker position he has had 19 kick offs, 14 touchbacks, 31 yard average punting, and 8 punts inside the 20. He recently had a 45 yard field goal in their win verse Foothill.  He is personally responsible for 7.5 points per game so far this season. Keep up the good work Joey.
